About this course
This informative course will cover the various ailments that may affect your horse in the coming Winter months. By enrolling on this course you will learn all about the challenges that horses face in the Winter months such as mud fever, cracked heels and thrush; avoiding these ailments as well as managing and treating them.
Winter can bring with it a challenging time for horse owners. There is the added time involved in clipping, rugging, managing grassland effectively and coping with the shorter days and more inclement weather that makes riding more hazardous and difficult.
Horses are unfortunately also more prone to ailments during these colder and wetter months and that is going to be the focus for this course. At the end of the course there is an online test for you to take and then you will be awarded your Certificate!

This course is suitable for anyone who is involved with,
and interested in, the correct care of horses.
Caring for our horses in Winter is quite a challenge! There is a lot to think about, including making sure the correct nutrition and amount of water is provided, the added time involved in clipping, rugging, managing grassland effectively as well as coping with the shorter days and more inclement weather that makes riding more hazardous and difficult!
